Fees/structure

The cost for therapy sessions vary based on needs and experience of your provider.

Effective January 1, 2022 under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, a ruling went into effect called the "No Surprises Act" which requires practitioners to provide a "Good Faith Estimate" about out-of-network care. I never want the cost of therapy sessions to be a surprise. I will provide all fees up front so that you can make the best decisions based on your needs and circumstances. I will collaborate with you on length of treatment, overall care and costs associated with those specific services.

I am not contracted with any insurance companies and therefore I am considered an “out of network” provider.  This means the cost of the session is due at the time of service. I am happy to provide you with a “superbill” that you may submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

For more information on Good Faith Estimates and the No Surprises Act please visit: www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call me at 602-430-3813.

My rates vary depending on the length and type of service.

More information about the structure of therapy

Here is the basic breakdown of the initial phase of couples therapy;

  • Session #1 (80 minutes) is an intake/assessment, gathering the history of your relationship. Prior to the next session you each complete an online relationship assessment. This is assessment is fully HIPAA compliant and consists of questions regarding friendship, intimacy, emotions, conflict, values, trust, parenting, housework, finances, individual areas of concern, and more. The assessment provides treatment recommendations and guides the treatment plan discussed in session three.

  • Session #2 (80 minutes) I meet with each of you individually for 40 minutes

  • Session #3 (80 minutes) is the treatment planning session where we discuss the results of the assessment and set our course for treatment

Ideally, additional sessions are 80 minutes to receive the most out of your time and money.

For individual clients, our first session is an 80-minute assessment. From there, we determine our goals collaboratively, and the subsequent sessions can be 50 or 80 minutes, depending on what makes the most sense.

I individualize all treatments to your specific needs and goals. In the course of therapy, we will evaluate your progress. I encourage you to raise any questions or concerns that you have at any time.
